Cross Belt Sampler
Conveyor-Based Dynamic Sampling for Continuous Process Control
Overview
Cross belt samplers extract samples directly from moving conveyor belts transporting bulk materials. The sampler cutter travels across the entire material stream to ensure unbiased extraction, enabling continuous monitoring of raw material composition during plant operation.
Process Role
Unlike intake sampling, conveyor-based sampling provides ongoing visibility into material composition during plant operation. Without dynamic sampling, process control relies on delayed laboratory data, reducing responsiveness. Cross Belt Samplers enable continuous and reliable process feedback.
Engineering Principle
Full cross-sectional dynamic interception. The cutter traverses the full belt width at constant velocity, intercepting the complete material stream and avoiding partial or biased sampling.
Core Engineering Features
Full Cross-Section Sampling
The cutter moves across the entire belt width, ensuring unbiased extraction across all layers of material.
Constant Cutter Velocity
Maintaining uniform cutter speed ensures sampling consistency and prevents distortion of sample composition.
Controlled Sampling Frequency
Sampling cycles are designed based on process requirements to ensure statistically valid sample collection.
Minimal Flow Disturbance
The system avoids disruption of conveyor operation and maintains continuous material flow.
